1946 After the second World War, the Held family found a new home in Burgberg in the Allgäu (Bavaria, Germany). The son, Edgar Held senior, was a learned glove master and, together with his wife Erna, started the production of street, car and motorcycle gloves.

1975 Production and distribution of motorcycle gloves under the brand name Held begins.

1983 With the help of the most successful German motorcycle racer ever, Toni Mang, Held develops a totally new glove for motorcyclists.

1985 Held is the first company on the market to produce tank bags with a totally new attachment system: magnets!

1988 Held starts to distribute textile and leather clothing for motorcyclists.

1996 Some company facts in the 50th anniversary year:

• about 3000 dealers in Germany and France 
• 11 importers in Europe and the United States
• 130 employees in Germany

2000 The expansion of Held goes quickly. The old warehouse in Burgberg is now too small, making it necessary to move into a new warehouse.

2005 Held USA becomes the new importer and distributor for Held products in the USA, bringing Held apparel, tankbags and boots to the United States.

2006 Held achieves its company philosophy: they can now supply complete biker wear from head to toe in top quality.
